All-glass garage doors are the rage. They’ve been featured on television design shows and you’ll see them all the time on Instagram and even for real in restaurant patios.

You probably haven’t thought about this, but your commercial garage door says a lot about your company. If you’re scratching your head going “Really?”—don’t worry, you’re not the only one. Lot’s of other owners of businesses like yours would think the same way. But it’s time that you start thinking differently about it now. Your garage doors are part of the face of your business. And faces can leave lasting impressions.

Instead of stewing all day and complaining to your neighbors, you have two options: hire a professional cleaning company to make it go away; or roll up your sleeves and try to scrub off the graffiti yourself.

Most of the time, when you look at garage door windows, they are going to be in the very top section or the one right under that. What you may not realize is that you can place them in numerous ways.

How often do you think about closing your garage door? For most people, it becomes a habit. They get inside and they shut the door. However, if you are like most people, you have probably forgotten that you have opened up the door – and then left it open – on more than one occasion. You might have been moving something into or out of the garage and then forgotten to close it. You might be sitting at work on some mornings wondering whether you closed the door or not. Perhaps you think it isn’t a problem. That is where you are wrong.

The garage door that works well but looks horrible may not be at the top of your list of home projects. However, you should give it some thought. Not only does a shabby looking door decrease the curb appeal of the home, it may not be in as good condition as you think.

What do you think causes the most service calls for garage doors? Is it the physical doors themselves? Would it surprise you to learn that it is the automatic reverse mechanism, or more precisely, the misalignment of the photo eyes these systems use?

You use your garage door every day to get in and out of your home. You wince as you hear that strange rattle yet again, and promise yourself that you’ll have it looked at eventually. In the meantime, it’s no big deal, is it?

When you take a look at two garage doors with the same or similar R-values (or RSI), it’s easy to think that they’ll both perform about the same when it comes to energy efficiency. However, that is not the case at all! When you look closer, you may see that one of the doors isn’t equipped with effective thermal breaks or top-performing weatherseals, which means that you may be unnecessarily losing heat to the outdoors.
